All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king. - J.R.R Tolkien

Sometimes what I write in this blog will be well articulated, grammatically correct essays that serve as good social commentary on current issues. Most of the time, however, I'm busy and am not as diligent about proofreading or properly expressing thoughts as one should be when presenting one's writing to others. I apologize for anything you may read that seems worse than a rough draft, or appears to be a random disconnected thought. "Them's the breaks."

I haven't forgotten!!

I haven't forgotten that I promised you all I would post soon! Life has simply been chaotic the last few days.

A lot of things I've been hard at work on are ending, and many are just starting. Early August I'll be flying to visit my Grandparents in Iowa their region was affected by the Tornados that hit in late May, and I hope to contribute to the cleanup effort while I'm there. http://www.pcusa.org/pda/response/usa/midwestflooding-inia-061108.htm in spite of all the news of flooding, my Grandfather tells me that their town (Aplington, which is mentioned in the link I attatched) has been VERY dry, which raises concerns for farming in the area. My cousin Denny and her husband lost their home during the storms and one of their neighbors was killed http://www.courierwebcasts.com/play.php?vid_id=970&file=newhartford4052608.flv this is a video from one of the local news sources of Denny showing a cameraman around the rubble of her home, Grampa is in the background trying to help out. I fly out on the 7th of August, after a week I'll fly straight to the Young Adult Volunteer "Debriefing" retreat, as soon as I return home I'll have 4 days before fall classes start at Florida International University. This means that I need to have a NEW place to live before I get on the plane on the 7th!

Housing costs in Miami are incredibly high, and oncampus housing doesn't make things any cheaper. So please keep all these things in your prayers, and I hope to get you all a decent and proper update soon!
In Christ,
Maggie

Technical Difficulties

blogspot has been giving me some problems. I have made 2 very long posts in the last couple months, the most recent I made just tonight and spent a couple hours working on it. Unfortunately neither have been posted.

Thankfully HALF of what I wrote tonight was able to be saved, but I don't have the energy, or time to rewrite the rest tonight. So PLEASE, check back... maybe around Sunday afternoon (Saturday will be VERY busy for me) and I hope to have it up.
