All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king. - J.R.R Tolkien

Sometimes what I write in this blog will be well articulated, grammatically correct essays that serve as good social commentary on current issues. Most of the time, however, I'm busy and am not as diligent about proofreading or properly expressing thoughts as one should be when presenting one's writing to others. I apologize for anything you may read that seems worse than a rough draft, or appears to be a random disconnected thought. "Them's the breaks."

World Communion Sunday

I visited a church this morning that I believe will be where I attend this year. I've already started practicing with the ever so small choir and I feel like I was really welcomed there. It is a very small congregation overall but very active and I'm excited to get involved.

Being that today is World Communion Sunday the service consisted of almost each piece being read or spoken in a different language, it was quite possibly one of the coolest worship services I've ever taken part in. We were greeted in Portuguese, the call to worship was in Spanish, the call to confession was in Italian, the old testament scripture was read in French. Parts were done in German and Dutch as well. I was reminded of how much I wanted to learn German as a child.

I pray that everyone felt as connected to the rest of those taking communion around the world today. I hope to spend a little more time very soon updating everyone about everything I've been up to!

Love in Christ,
Maggie
