I am right now just hanging out in the Louisville Airport waiting on my flight back to Spokane. This discernment weekend has been amazing.
I had a really good time hanging out with the site coordinators for Ghana, and in the end that was actually my number one choice though I was torn between Miami and Ghana. so I put them both down as my top choices listing Ghana first. Which honestly scared me to death, and I kept going through this list that Glen (one of the site coordinators) made of all the really BIG challenges like illness lack of communication with home etc. Trying to eliminate Ghana as an option, and I honestly couldn't, there was NO reason for me to not go. But I also REALLY wanted to go to Miami, though I wasn't entirely sure I was making that choice for all the right reasons. By Friday night though I prayed seriously about it and thought "Ok, Ghana is number one, and I'll write a note that Miami is a close second, after that it's not in my hands." So I handed in my discernment form the next morning they gave us our placements Saturday night, and I was assigned to Miami.
So YAY! I'm really excited for this placement, there are a lot of really cool organizations and/or churches for me to get involved with!
